Rescue helicopter winches man off rocks at One Mile Beach Forster

A young man flown to John Hunter after falling from rocks at One Mile on Wednesday evening (November 22).

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to the scene just before 7pm in response to information that the man had fallen some distance.

When the chopper arrived it winched in a doctor and paramedic.  They found a 20-year-old suffering injuries including a broken ankle.

He was treated by the doctor and paramedic then winched into the chopper and flown to the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.

One Mile Beach trends south-southeast from Bennetts Head for 1.3 km to a prominent southern headland.  It is very popular with locals and holiday-makers.  It’s also a popular surf beach.
