Speaking of school holidays - keep an eye out for the arrival of our school holiday program. It’s packed with events sure to engage and entertain.
Christmas Preschool Storytimes will take place across our libraries. Visit our website for dates, times and locations. www.midcoastlibraries.com.au
Since the last column, we’ve held the Forster Library Community Consultation session and are establishing a community Reference Group to provide ongoing input.
The design workshop for the Gloucester Library refurbishment is being held on Wednesday December 6 at Gloucester Library, starting from 9am.
If you’ve read out your favourite author and wonder who to read now, or you only like books set in Ancient Greece - we’ve got the database for you – Who Else Writes Like...?
It’s full of great recommendations. With those school holidays closing in you might also be looking for some help with children’s authors – so check out the Who Next...? database. If this has caught your attention go to the All about books and reading tab on the library’s website and select the relevant database. Remember, to access these databases you have to be a library member. Just one more good reason to join.
As this will be the last column before Christmas I need to advise you that all our libraries will be closed from 1pm Friday December 22 until the first normal opening day on or after Tuesday January 2 2018. No library items are due during this period.
On behalf of all the staff at MidCoast Libraries I’d also like to take the opportunity to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.
See you at the library.
Chris Jones,
MidCoast Council - Manager Libraries
