Some students in year nine have organised the expo and the community is invited along between 5pm and 7pm to view the school farm and its activities.
The students will demonstrate how they prepare their animals for shows and exhibitions and how they interact with and feed the smaller animals such as chickens, sheep and calves.
Tours of the school farm will be conducted and there will be a milking demonstration as well as a “huess the weight” competition.
Entrance to the expo is via Bushland Drive.
Chatham High’s agriculture teacher Jan Kleynhans will be available to answer questions. The school’s agriculture department has gone from strength to strength under Jan’s guidance.
It is the first time the school has taken part in National Ag Day.
