The NSW SES “Fill a flood boat” campaign is in support of the “Stuff your chopper” charity drive initiated by NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) and NSW Police.
Both campaigns are aimed at filling helicopters and flood boats with donated goods for charity and provide assistance for disadvantaged people this festive season.
People in the Nabiac area can visit the SES Nabiac Unit, in Clarkson Street, on Wednesday, November 22 and Wednesday, November 29, between 7.30pm and 8.30pm and drop off their donations of in date unopened dry good foodstuffs (tins and packets) and personal care items (no toys).
“We are hoping people will come along on and drop of their donated goods into the SES flood boat we will have out the front of the unit,” NSW SES Nabiac Unit member Deb Gilbert said.
“It will also be an opportunity for folks to come in and have a look at the building and meet some of the local volunteers.”
The NSW SES Nabiac Unit has been kept busy recently by a number of storms that have hit the Mid North Coast. These requests for storm assistance have including making safe a number of properties that were damaged by high winds, heavy rain and falling trees.
