NSW Police traffic and highway patrol command acting assistant commissioner Stuart Smith said he was disappointed so many people made the decision to speed.
“It is plain and simple; speeding is the biggest killer on our roads and we will continue to take action against those who choose to speed.
“Last year, speeding was a contributing factor in crashes that resulted in the death of 159 people on our roads.
“It is disappointing that in a single day our officers were able to catch more than 2300 people who chose to do the wrong thing.
“We will continue to take action against any speeding driver, because they are not only putting themselves at risk, they are risking the lives of innocent people,” Acting Assistant Commissioner Smith said.
