George Hoad is talking about Anglican Care Auxiliary, Manning’s film fundraiser screening of Murder on the Orient Express at Fay’s Twin Cinema, which raised more than $500.
“There was a good crowd who all enjoyed a delicious supper and chat before the film,” said George.
“A fundraising raffle was held and generously supported with more than 10 prizes.”
The new film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s famous story is set in 1930s Europe and stars Kenneth Branagh as Hercule Poirot, with Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Derek Jacobi and Michelle Pfeiffer.
“Having played the role of Hercule Poirot for Taree Arts Council 10 years ago, it was a treat to relive the murder, mystery and exercise the ‘little grey cells’ one more time,” said George.
