Would you like the opportunity to share your collection and learn from others within a newly formed group?
If you answered yes, then a new Christian poetry group kicking off in 2018 could be just the thing for you.
May Sharp has published two books and composed more than 400 poems, and is now looking to start up a new poetry group.
“I am hoping we will meet up each fortnight at my property in Pampoolah, off the Old Bar road from the start of February,” she said.
May is well known as a guest speaker in Taree, giving talks on the subject of special needs children and their families. She enjoys sharing her original poems that speak about a broad range of subjects.
“My poetry and prose is sometimes deep or spiritual in nature, and at other times it is simply fun and silly nonsense,” she said.
May has organised and led a similar style poetry group in the past, and in her retirement she has decided that this is the right time to enjoy the pursuit with others, as it encourages personal growth and fun for all.
“These groups work best if there are about 15 members,” she said.
“Anyone who is interested, including beginners, are welcome to call me on 6552 6547.
“Past writing experience is not required, simply an urge to have a go and learn.
“The group will be free to participate in, but a small plate for morning tea could be brought for sharing on a roster basis once the group is up and going.
“Sessions will last around two hours, on a day to be chosen. Men and women of all ages are welcome.”
