The colourful and loud “knit in/sit in” is in protest to the proposed Adani Carmichael coal mine in Queensland.
“There are many grandparents worried for the future of their grandchildren.
“We want investment in clean energy and a brighter future but also there are many people distressed about where our tax payer dollars go.
“This is one project that unites many people, from all walks of life, against the building of the Adani coal mine, at our expense,” Knitting Nanna member Margaret Tappert said.
Over 45 protests took place across Australia last month, in an attempt to ask politicians to reject a proposed $1 billion loan to the mining company.
