Baby Van Mylius Stricker had an unexpected extra welcome to the world on November 6, 2017.

As the first baby born at Manning Hospital born on that day, the family was gifted by Quota International Taree with blooms for mum, a book for the baby and a special hand-knitted bear, given as it was the Taree club’s 70th birthday.

Surprising the first baby born at Manning Hospital on a particular day with the honour of being that year’s ‘Quota Baby’ is a tradition Taree Quota started in 1976. Then, the special day was Mother’s Day. Some years later, the date was changed to November 6 – Taree Quota’s birthday.

Van Mylius is the Stricker family’s second child; he is a brother to Luka.
