The Manning Gardens Public School student will compete in the AWD (Athletes with Disability) 200 metre event.
Jeremy is the Manning River Times- Iguana Sportstar of the Week, earning a $50 open order at Iguana.
Following success at a zone carnival, he posted a first in the 800 metre final, first in 200 metre final and fourth in 100 metre final at the Hunter regional event.
This earned him selection for the Hunter team where he competed at Homebush in Sydney.
His pace in this event solidified his spot in the NSW squad for the school games.
This was the third year he qualified for the State championships but is the first time he will represent NSW.
The 11-year-old has never been on a plane before and will travel to Adelaide with his father.
“I’m very excited,” he said.
Other sports athletes will compete in at the games include basketball, netball, golf, hockey and touch football. The school has helped cover a lot for the costs involved in Jeremy’s development with multiple fundraisers held.
His parents Nic and Ken have also worked tirelessly with his travel and expenses.
Jeremy is also a prolific cross-country competitor, where he has found success for Hunter.
