A BAREFOOT bowls day will be held at Taree West BC on Saturday to raise funds for Australian under 16 futsal representative, Abby Baker.

Abby will leave for a 20 day tour of the United Kingdom and Madrid on November 22 where the Australians will be involved in tournaments featuring other international sides.

She was selected in the side following the Australian championships held in Sydney last January where she was a member of the Manning side.

Abby has to raise $8000 to meet expenses for her trip.

Abby attends Taree High School. She spends much of her spare time on either the futsal court of the soccer pitch.

Abby plays futsal in the Manning competition while she was also a member of the Football Mid North Coast side that won the Women’s Premier League (WPL) under 16 premiership this year.

She hopes to play in either the under 20 or first grade team in next year’s WPL.

Saturday’s bowls day will start at 1pm and players of all abilities are welcome to join in the fun.
