I was aware of Jude's work before I met her. I was aware of her when we met to do All Saints.

With Jude passing, it makes you aware of that time we had together. It does make you reflect on the experiences you had. It made me realise how lucky we were to have All Saints.

It was an amazing vehicle that Channel Seven fully supported. It was a great drama that the audience really took into their hearts. That's in part due to Seven's head of drama John Holmes and his ability to get the casting right. He knew when Jude walked into the room and started doing her audition, he said, 'that's our Von Ryan'. It was like the stars aligned.

I remember the first day on set and it just felt right. That's why it lasted 11, 12 years. It was a very special time and Jude was there from the beginning to the end. She was a major part it.

She was very dry, very honest and you knew very quickly where you stood with her. She had a delightfully direct personality. That was one of the things that made her one of those people you remember.

Because Jude was the eldest cast member, the natural thing was to look up to her. She hated that. She wanted to be acknowledged for her work, not her age. She thought it was patronising in a way. She just wanted to be given good storylines, a challenge and to do a good day's work. She was someone I had enormous fun with.

She had a definite opinion about everything she did - that opinion made the audience love her. Whenever she had a one-liner, you had to be able to imbue it with so much meaning. She had to know exactly why her character was saying it.

Jude had an ability to show her range as an actor through the many roles she played. All of those roles, in all those different shows meant something different to everybody. In Prisoner she was playing one role that meant so much to women of that time.

Jude just had a way of standing out. Whenever she was in a group, she stood out.

She wouldn't see herself as a character actor. She would see herself as playing the character. She filled Von with all of her experiences and attitudes, and that's what made Von interesting.

If you wanted to have a big D&M with her, she would have a big D&M with her. But she wouldn't seek to tell you what to do. She had a prickly exterior at times, but she had the biggest heart.

She adored her family and her friends. She confronted things some times, and that made things exciting and memorable. When someone like that leaves, you remember so much because everything they do is so memorable. You can't say that about many people.

She left her mark on and off camera.
