Months of toil making a masterpiece were rewarded when residents of Estia Health Taree received first prize for their mosaic at the Taree Show.

The group of residents has proven that age is no barrier to creativity, working hard to create the large mosaic, which was awarded first place in the arts and crafts section.

Estia Taree worker Donna Friery said that the residents put in many hours of work to get the mosaic ready in time for the show, and were very pleased with the result.

The mosaic, which depicts an underwater landscape, won first prize.

“This was the first time they had entered any artwork into the show,” she said.

“They were really excited with the result.”

The group worked tirelessly for three months, chipping, cutting, and shaping many tiles to create the beautiful mosaic which depicts an underwater landscape.
