Twelve-year-old singer Cassidy Donovan wowed the audience when she performed in the Taree Arts Council showcase in February.

She will return for Spotlight on Taree Arts Council II, singing a selection of songs.

Cassidy comes with a performance background that started when she was five.

"I've been singing ever since I could talk and grew up around music.

"I am a regular soloist at the Carols in the Park, I performed at the Can Assist Comedy Gala, a Ronald McDonald House fundraiser and performed with Rachael Beck at the Rotary Manning Valley Schools Spectacular."

Her first foray into musical theatre was in Taree Arts Council’s Mary Poppins in 2015, where she played Michael Banks.

She followed it up in 2016 with the lead role of Mirabelle in Ariana Shneider’s production of Crystal Dreaming.

Cassidy has most recently finished a school production of Peter Pan.

She won the 12 year old aggregate and Smile scholarship winner at 2017 Taree and District Eisteddfod and is the annual performer of the Australian anthem at the the Gold Cup races in Taree.

Spotlight on Taree Arts Council II is on at St Mary’s Hall, Taree, on Sunday October 29 at 2pm and Tuesday October 31 at 11am. Tickets are $20 non concession and $15 concession and are available at Bass’n’Blues in Taree.
