Taree’s Viison Kitchens have been recognised for their outstanding work by winning the best kitchen in a display home award at the annual Northern NSW Housing Industry of Australia Kitchen and Bathroom Awards recently.
Australia’s best kitchens and bathrooms are recognised at the annual HIA Kitchen and Bathroom Awards acknowledging the talents of designers, manufacturers and installers to plan safe, functional and innovative kitchens and bathrooms.
The winning kitchen was designed by Taree based designer, and project manager, Melinda Oirbans who designed the room for a Sorensen and Caldon Builders display home in Port Macquarie.
“We are proud of our achievements,” Taree showroom manager Helen Merchant said.
“It’s very encouraging.”
It’s not the first time Viison have won such an award.
The business, with showrooms in Taree and Forster, have been members of the HIA for 10 years winning numerous awards in that time in the northern NSW region as well as in the Hunter.
They have also been recognised at State and were finalists at national level.

- Helen Merchant, showroom manager
Melinda has been project manager for all the Sorensen and Caldon homes located all over the mid north coast of NSW.
Viison worked with other local suppliers to complete the project including Edstein Creative Stone for the Dekton benchtops and splashback. Dekton is a new ultra compact stone product and the latest in hardwearing benchtop surfaces.
Logan Leigh supplied the two-pack spray painted doors and panels in a matt finish. The kitchen also includes a Polytec timbergrain feature on the island. Tradelink supplied the appliances, sink and tap.
Viison design, manufacture and install custom made kitchens and all types of joinery for both residential and commercial projects locally and statewide.
They have approximately 40 staff including nine designers/project managers based between their two showrooms.
With their own factory in Taree, the business tries as much as possible to support and use all local products and trades. Helen would like to thank Viison clients, suppliers and of course Melinda.
