Croker, 40, was contesting the 40-44 years division.
He clocked 1 hour 7.8 for the 3.8km swim, 5 hours 42.33 for the 180km bike and 5 hours 42.33 for the 42.2km run.
Croker was 231st in his age category and 1756th overall. He told the Times before leaving for Hawaii that would set himself two goals for the race, considered the toughest in the world.
“I want to finish and I want to enjoy myself,’’ he said.
Croker has now completed 14 ironman races, although this was his debut in the world championship.
