Three budding athletes from the Manning Valley have been awarded $500 each in Federal Government funding to assist with their sporting endeavors.

Cundletown’s Xanthe Parsons, Harrington’s Isabella Deas and Taree’s Bree Pensini met with Member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie on Thursday, October 12 to accept their grants that is derived from the Local Sporting Champions (LSC) program.
Xanthe will use the grant to assist with travelling to the National Youth Championships for Girls as part of the Northern NSW Football side.
She is also a member of A-League side Newcastle Jets’ under 13s emerging team.

Isabella is part of the Netball NSW squad that featured at the 2017 State Age Championships in Liverpool.
This is the first time she has been selected.
Bree is a member of the Hockey NSW side that competed in the National Under 15 Championships.
The girls said they were “very happy” to receive a grant.
Dr Gillespie said the grants assist with offsetting costs with expenses involved with participating in higher level sport.
“It’s great to see that Taree keeps churning out these champions,” he said.
