Local indigenous dance group Waang-djarii will perform Welcome to Country on Friday night and will also perform on Saturday night.
Seventy artists will perform over the three days, including a mix of well-known Australian icons and locals.
Among the big names are Kasey Chambers, Russell Morris, Ella Hooper, The Turner Brown Band (USA) and Eurogliders.
This year Akoostik organisers are joining the war on waste, supported by JR Richards and Sons, with special bins provided for food waste.
