Salim Mehajer announces new wedding business venture

He once labelled his own lavish ceremony "Australia's best wedding", and now former Auburn deputy mayor Salim Mehajer has announced a new business venture in the same sector.

In true Mehajer fashion, the 31-year-old unveiled his "Wedding and Event Planning" business to his 187,000 Instagram followers overnight, telling them that it had finally come into fruition after more than a year of "making, 'thinking and planning'".

"Whilst we are all very occupied with our day to day jobs, with our skill of creative, we make use of our education and passionate to this dream as we aims to take our hobby to the next level!" he wrote in a caption to a photo of the company's logo.

"We guarantee the best service or money back guarantee! We will also beat any prices to make your next event or ceremony memorable. Most importantly, we will work with your budget."

A "dear friend of the family", Constance Siaflas has been announced as the newest face of the wedding business. In August 2016, the flight attendant was flown in to replace Mehajer's ex-wife Aysha Learmonth at wedding celebrations for his younger sister, Khadijeh "Kat".

The post also took a swipe at the corruption inquiry into Auburn Council, which questioned how Mehajer's entourage was given permission to land four helicopters on a council oval and block a street with a procession of luxury vehicles during his wedding in 2015.

While it is not known how much Mehajer's wedding cost, Phil Usher, co-founder of Weddingbuzz, estimated the amount at more than $200,000.

"You may witness a letter you may have never seen before... yes I DID and always have consent to land land helicopters on my special day," said Mehajer, with the letter posted as the fourth image.

The new venture comes after Mehajer, on June 30, lost an urgent court bid to remove the administrators appointed to two of his companies, Sydney Project Group and S.E.T Services.

The Supreme Court heard that the companies owed almost $100 million to creditors, despite having only $32,000 in the bank.

Mehajer's appeal against the verdict in August, was dismissed in a matter of minutes, with Justice Anthony Meagher asking: "What are we doing here?"

But Mehajer's legal battles aren't over. He is set to face court this month, charged with assaulting a taxi driver at The Star casino and a television reporter as she tried to question him following his release from custody. He has pleaded not guilty.
