The Big Bash League (BBL) team worked with Surf Lifesaving NSW to combine water safety lessons with some new cricket skills and a morning of fun.
Sydney Sixers player in the Women’s Big Bash league (WBBL) Emily Leys was on hand to dish out some tips and have fun with the kids.
“It’s really all about getting kids interested in cricket,” she said.
“If you get them onto the beach for some fun and games, you’re more likely to get them wanting to come and play the sport again.”
Kids attending the clinic had a chance to experience all the excitement of Big Bash with mini games, skills sessions, surf lifesaving training and a bouncy castle.
The development of the program comes off the back of the success of the Milo T20 Blast program.
