He urged the parliament to call on the ACCC to review recent price movements and discrepancies in the area and to visit the Myall Lakes to speak with residents and retailers to determine whether there is a need for further investigation.
Mr Bromhead has also lobbied for an explanation to Myall Lakes residents as why they are paying excessive prices for fuel. He insisted that residents deserve to known why the prices are higher than other areas.
“More needs to be done by the ACCC to ensure regional communities are not adversely affected by the big oil companies,” Mr Bromhead said.
“This week in Parliament I have called on the ACCC to visit the Myall Lakes electorate and listen to the concerns of residents and review the Mid Coast fuel market.”
