Inhabiting the realms of electronica, post punk and experimental rock, Scattered Order are touring their new double album, ‘A Suitcase Full Of Snow Globes’.
All 2BOB listeners and lovers of strange sounds are welcome to attend the show.
Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
The show is a live music style program, where guest presenter Brendan Parker will lead the band through some quick questions before handing the stage over to the band.
The Scattered Order story is one that could really do with a biopic.
They formed on Boxing Day in 1979 as Mitch Jones and Michael Tee, both hailing from Sydney band The Barons.
They were helped out originally by drummer Simon Vidale from The Numbers.
Not long after this came the decision to create their own label, M Squared.
M Squared was created to make it easier for Scattered Order to release their own music.
However, it quickly became a home to a myriad pool of talented musicians rallying against the established ‘Oz Rock’ sound of mainstream airplay.
Bands like Tactics, Systematics, Ya Ya Choral, Makers Of The Dead Travel Fast, Pel Mel and Severed Heads all created a collective musical legacy that makes M Squared a truly unique (if sadly brief) Australian record label.
By 1984, M Squared had gone quietly into the night in a cloud of bewilderment and debt.
Scattered Order continued to release albums and perform live over the years and they have seen many line-up changes over time.
Currently, Scattered Order retains the core of Mitch Jones and Michael Tee and now includes former member of Makers Of The Dead Travel Fast Shane Fahey.
