Dr David Keegan’s Country Labor Group J topped the voting tally, gaining 8807 first preference votes, 25 to 30 per cent more votes than the next highest group.
The eleven councillors who will serve on MidCoast Council have been decided.

Country Labor has secured two places on the MidCoast Council. Dr David Keegan and second placed on the Country Labor Group J ticket, Claire Pontin have been elected.

The count in the September 9 election was finalised on Saturday afternoon, September 16.
The MidCoast Council will be made up of (in order of the groups A-K):
- Len Roberts – Tea Gardens
- Brad Christensen – Harrington
- Peter Epov – Strathcedar
- Troy Fowler (Liberal) – Forster
- Karen Hutchinson – Booral
- Kathryn Bell – Taree
- David West – Brimbin
- Katheryn Smith – Gloucester
- David Keegan (Country Labor) – Taree
- Claire Pontin (Country Labor) – Redhead
- Jan McWilliams – Tuncurry
