The specially designed valve caps will be available for sale from Taree Bridgestone Service Centre over the next two months.
Your purchase will help the Leukaemia Foundation provide life-changing practical and emotional support to the 35 Australians diagnosed each day in local communities right across the country - from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond.
Bridgestone has been an avid supporter of the Leukaemia Foundation for more than 30 years and is the principal partner of Light the Night, the foundation’s annual series of twilight walks.
Fundraisers hold lanterns - gold to remember loved ones lost to blood cancer, white is carried by those diagnosed with a blood cancer, blue lanterns are raised high by the community that surrounds us all, funding the life-saving support services their families may one day need.
“Purchasing blue valve caps is a simple way for members of the community to show their support for Light the Night – a meaningful event for many people facing a blood cancer,” Ashley Cleaver, owner of Taree Bridgestone Service Centre, said.
“For less than a five-dollar note, you can play a part in creating a brighter future for people with blood cancer and their families. It’s a simple idea that we hope will have a big impact.”
Ashley Cleaver’s Light the Night blue valve caps are just $3 for a set of four.
Money raised through the sale of the valve caps helps provide emotional and practical support that will light the way forward for people facing a blood cancer diagnosis.
In previous years, the nation-wide campaign has helped sponsor the Bridgestone Australia Career Establishment Grant, an initiative set up to support medical graduates and their research into the causes, treatment and care of people living with a blood cancer.
“It is great to know that the funds raised from this initiative will continue to make a real difference in the Leukaemia Foundation’s efforts to beat blood cancer,” Ashley said.
“The initiative has received tremendous support from the local community in previous years and we are hopeful that support will continue. We’re encouraging everyone to come and see us in store today to purchase their special blue valve caps!”
Bridgestone Australia is a proud partner of the Leukaemia Foundation and has been for 30 years, providing patient transport vehicles, assisting with patient accommodation and more.
