A picture perfect quintessential Australian wildlife moment delighted Geoff Richards of Tinonee.
On Sunday he enjoyed the unwavering gaze of a baby koala who was protectively wrapped in the arms of its mother as they nestled in a tree growing near his yard fence line in Manchester Street. He captured the magic moment and the Manning River Times quickly acted to share the fabulous photo with our community on Facebook – more than 420 people clicked ‘Like’, ‘Love’ and ‘WOW’ reactions to the image and it was shared an additional 65 times.

“The best thing for mum and her baby is to leave them alone. Hovering around the tree can be quite stressful to mum and this can cause problems such as separation or abandonment of her baby. Enjoy these beautiful creatures from a distance,” Christeen said.
