The project took five weeks to complete and was initiated by Taree High School youth outreach worker Briony Stockdale.
Taree High School community engagement senior leader Jay Davis was tasked with creating the design.
He said the final product presents a connection to the school and the Biripi people.
The group utilised stencils that Mr Davis had used to create ground art for the school’s NAIDOC Week celebrations.
House With No Steps Manning and Great Lakes community engagement manager Jon Vine said the group received approval from Essential Energy to create a design for the padmount that would be appreciated by the community.
“This is a high visibility spot so we wanted to make sure it was a good one,” he said.
“From Essential Energy’s point of view, they get a lot of graffiti and this is a project where we can paint them, make them look better and reduce the graffiti.”
All present at the completion of the project on Wednesday, September 6 signed the padmount.
Similar projects have been created in the Taree CBD.
House With No Steps is looking for other artists to get involved in creating padmount designs.
