Club president Garry McQuillan said the track couldn’t be in any better condition for the day.
"We've spent 20 odd thousand dollars this winter bringing it up to scratch,” he said.
The club has received 187 nominations, with acceptances still to be announced.
A total of $170,000 will be up for grabs as prize money for the event.
"It's showing how much this track is going forward, how Racing NSW is taking us forward and how the broader community realise how good this track is,” Garry said.
The traditional mile race (1600 metres) won’t be run on the day due to recent renovations.
“We can still run a 1500 metre race though,” he said.
Garry was pleased by the economical benefits the event brings to the Great Lakes.
"It's a great day for the town and a great day for the club. This is creating a long weekend for a lot of people where they come for the Friday races and then stay Saturday and Sunday,” he said.
The pavilion has been sold out as well as 26 gazebos around the track.
“There’s still plenty of room, seating and shade for patrons,” Garry assured.
