The day gave Chatham High School, Taree High School, Wingham High School and Great Lakes College students the opportunity to learn about a range of courses relating to new technology.
These included workshops in virtual reality, film making, cell animation and film editing.
Creative Industries Roadshow coordinator Kristi Street said the roadshow gives regional students an understanding of what these careers involve and there impact on the Australian economy.
"The industry is growing and people need to be savvy with this technology.
"There are jobs that are being created now that didn't exist five years ago.
“They can embrace technology and be creative,” she said.
She added that the roadshow is also designed to give career advisory necessary information to assist students who are thinking about a career in the creative industry.
Natural history and illustration student Joyous Colley was at Chatham High School to assist students with cell animation.
This practice used an iPad and and the app ‘Stop Motion’ to create a short, moving animation.
She hoped that students would continue to use the skills learnt in the workshop and encouraged them to showcase their works on social media.
“Just do it,” she said.
