Grace hopes everyone she greets with the question, “Will you support Legacy with a purchase?” will say ‘yes’ and buy a badge, wristband, keyring or an army, navy, or RAAF bear.
The students will seek to sell the merchandise in the central business district of Taree with money raised used to assist Legacy Australia to support the 576 widows, disabled dependents and children in the Manning, Great Lakes and Gloucester areas. Ten Wingham High School students, eight Gloucester High School students and a contingent from the Forster-Tuncurry region will also take part in the annual event.
Legacy Badge Day is part of Legacy Week that has seen volunteers set up merchandise stalls in shopping centres throughout the area.
