The wait is over and locals can finally get their hands on the all new Ford Mustang.
In fact they are lining up to get behind the wheel of what has been described as the best selling sports car on the planet.
“We’ve had customers waiting two or three years,” said Mid Coast Automotive dealer principal Mario Tomlin.
“As soon as Ford Australia announced it was coming we took orders straight away.”
So what is all the fuss?
“It’s a reinterpretation of a 60s icon,” explained Mario.
“And the performance and handling are exhilarating!”
Evolution of an icon
When looking at cars through the ages, from Henry Ford’s first Model ‘T’ to the present day super cars, a small number have caught the heart of motoring enthusiasts and gone on to become much sought after classics.
When it comes to the muscle car era of the 60s and early 70s, few vehicles inspired the keen motorist more than the Ford Mustang.

The 65/66 and later model ‘Boss’ Mustang have cemented their place as performance car icons.
In a bold interpretation of the legendary American car, 2017 Mustang Ecoboost and GT models available as fastback or convertible are not only showstopping but have been designed and engineered for power, performance and an outstanding economy rate.
The scream and roar of the 5 litre V8 GT seems to be winning most folk over in both manual and auto options. However the turbo 4 cylinder version shouldn’t be over looked either.
These new Mustangs aren’t just show ponies that look and sound good.
“They’re fully equipped with the latest features offering a very comfortable ride,” said Mario.
Challenging road and weather conditions, sudden manoeuvres, the all-new Mustang handles like a dream.
It responds differently too depending on your needs.
“In Drive it’s a nice ride,” explains Mario. “In Sport it’s aggressive and in Race it gets downright angry!”
