The streets surrounding the hospital are currently congested with staff, patient and resident vehicles and access to the new Pulteney Street carpark will instantly improve access to the hospital and numerous medical practices.
The carpark construction hit national news in May with the collapse of a crane and resulting injury to the driver.

Brett Evans, manager capital works for Hunter New England Health says all car parking on campus will remain free of charge at Manning Hospital.
“The new carpark is part of the Manning Hospital redevelopment and the project also includes additional dedicated parking for renal dialysis and chemotherapy patients as part of the new facility that is being purpose-built to provide enhanced cancer care and renal dialysis services to the Manning and Great Lakes community,” Mr Evans said.
“Work is underway to prepare the High Street site for the new two-storey cancer treatment and renal dialysis building as the next step in the redevelopment project.”
