Police have charged a man over an alleged ‘upskirting’ offence in Wingham.

Officers were called to a shopping centre in Wingham about 3.30pm on Monday, August 14, after reports a man was allegedly behaving in an offensive manner inside a women’s toilet block.
Following inquiries, police from Manning Great Lakes Local Area Command attended a home near Taree on Tuesday, August 15 where they arrested a 35 year old man.
Officers conducted a search of the man’s mobile phone and found numerous images allegedly depicting women having their photo taken without consent.
They also seized a number of electronic devices which were secured for further forensic analysis.
The man was taken to Taree Police Station where he was charged with film persons private parts without consent.
He was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Taree Local Court on Tuesday, September 12.
Investigations are continuing.
