A sign up day was held last Sunday at Taree Rugby Park with enough players participating to form one team, Ratz official Dave Rush said.
There are a number of other players who have indicated their interest in becoming involved so another sign up day will be held next Sunday August 13 at Taree Rugby Park from 1pm to 3pm.
“It is hoped to get enough players to form a number of teams locally so as to reduce the need for excessive travel for games,’’ Mr Rush said.
Graham Sonter and Steve Lee from the MNC Tomahawks representative teams will coach the sides.
They hope to organise trial games with the Gloucester women’s side over the next few months as an introduction to the game.
Gloucester currently plays in the Mid North Coast competition that stretches to Coffs Harbour.
Earlier this year the NSW Country Women’s Championships were held at Tuncurry, where Mid North Coast were represented.
