A band of travelling supporters cheered on both sides as Bass capitalised on early pressure to be the first on the score sheet.
The Bass High middle men proved too quick as a slick shift of hands exposed the Taree High left edge defense.
Within a matter of minutes, they pushed out to a 16-0 lead.
Shaking off their first half performance, back-to-back penalties at the beginning of the second half resulted in a charge up-field by Taree High.
After some smart dummy-half play the locals were on the board.
A comeback was soon off the cards as consistent pressure inside Taree High’s half saw second-rower Kane Bradley cross for their fourth try of the day.
Both sides traded tries before the conclusion of the hard-hitting contest.
