April is the partner in a dairy farm at Camden, milking 200 cows. Her other dairy connections include the role of President of the Royal Agricultural Society Dairy Youth Committee and the NSW Secretary of the Brown Swiss Society.
She has a background in teaching and higher education and was involved in the Renewal of Agriculture Strategy at the Hawkesbury Campus of Western Sydney University.
She most recently held the role of Engagement Coordinator at the School of Science and Health at Western Sydney University.
She has a Certificate III in Agriculture from Tocal College, a Bachelor of Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Newcastle and a Masters of Secondary Teaching from Western Sydney University.
Dairy NSW Chair, Jane Sherborne said: “The Board and staff at Dairy NSW are excited to have April join the team and look forward to her leading the organisation in the next phase of its development. April’s networks and engagement skills will ensure Dairy NSW is well connected to the farmers in the region and delivering extension and other services specific to their needs.”
April started in the role on July 18 and is excited at the new challenge. “To secure a role that allows me to work in an industry that I am passionate about and utilise my experience and skills is a fantastic opportunity. I look forward to continuing the great work that the experienced team at Dairy NSW have been doing over the last few years,” she said.
