Gardening enthusiasts from around the Mid North Coast took to Club Taree on Friday, July 21 for the opening day of the 38th annual Taree and District Garden Club’s Camellia Show.

The show was officially opened by President of The Garden Clubs of Australia George Hoad who was pleased with the quality of entries.
“The quality overall has been the best I’ve seen here,” he said.
“What’s wonderful is that the garden clubs and the gardeners out there have really supported Taree and District Garden Club in this venture here and given the weather conditions of the last week, the blooms are fantastic.”
Brian Nicholls from the Orara Valley was named the grand champion of the show for his display of American camellias.
Mr Hoad was pleased with the display.
“I spotted it early on and it’s truly amazing,” he said.
Jean Trotter was named reserve champion of the show.
