The series is contested between the Taree, Kempsey and Gunnedah clubs. Taree will be defending the cup won last year.
The Bayliss’s will travel from the Gold Coast to race in the series opener tomorrow. The second round will be held in Kempsey on Sunday.
“We hold the two rounds over here on the same weekend to cut down the travel for Gunnedah,’’ Taree Motor Cycle president Craig Nelson said.
Oli Bayliss,13, is racing in the Australian Supersport 300 series this year and claimed three wins in the recent round at Darwin.
Mr Nelson said a number of junior riders will also use Saturday’s racing as part of their preparation for the Australian Dirt Track Championships to be held here on September 23/24.
“Some rode at the national track championships in Mildura last weekend and they’ll get back on the road and head here,’’ he said.
“This will be one of the last chances they’ll have to practice at our track before the Australian titles.’’
Up to 80 riders are expected to be in action tomorrow, with racing to start from around 11am.
