Men will be underway from Wednesday September 6 while the association hopes to also start a women’s competition.
A registration day will be held at the Touch clubhouse on Monday August 28 from 4pm till 7pm. Registration forms will be available soon on the association’s website and Facebook page.
A level 1 course for referees will be conducted between the registration and the start the competitions.
Graham Goodwin was returned unopposed as president of Taree Touch Football Association for the 2017/2018 season following this week’s well attended annual general meeting.
Matt Nelson is again secretary and Narelle Salmon treasurer with Phil Rainger the new vice president.
Meanwhile Taree will host the Northern Eagles Championships on January 20/21. This will be a first for the Eagles region, that takes in associations from Forster-Tuncurry to the Queensland border and also the New England area.
Taree Touch president Graham Goodwin said there will be play in under 10s, 12s, 14s, 16s and 18 divisions for boys and girls teams.
Mr Goodwin said the event will be run in a similar manner to the Junior State Cup. Matches will also be used as trials for Northern Eagles representative teams.
