Under sevens

OLD Bar Barbarians under sevens soccer side played their game against Tinonee at Old Bar Trad Fields. Despite the wet conditions and soggy ground they all had fun and tried their hardest.

David Hill was the player of the day for always trying and having a go.

OLD Bar nine Gladiators had a blinder of a game on Saturday smashing Cundletown 6-2. Goals scored by Lev'i Doward 2, James Tani 1, Darcy Seach 1 and Koby Jones 2.

Players of the match went to Brock Devaney for his passing and enthusiasm and Denver Purdon for his great defence and giving it 100 per cent.

The team had so much fun playing in the wet, a little bit of dirt never hurt and this team proved that on Saturday getting filthy (feel sorry for the mum on shirts this week).

Under 11s

ROUND eight and what a game. Old Bar Barbarians played against Old Bar Gladiators at Old Bar.

The boys had a great game and fought hard against what would be the hardest team yet. There was some strong defence and great attacking.

Ben Hunt came away with the manager's choice award for always chasing the ball down and trying very hard.

Isaiah Puglisi was awarded coach’s award for being the best goalie around. This boy always puts his body on the line with every save he does.

Under 13s

THE for the Old Bar Barbarian 13s was played against the Pacific Palms Panthers at Boomerang Beach.

Old Bar played an overall strong game and dominated the field over much of the game, but just couldn't seem to turn that play into points on the board. Wet slippery conditions didn't help the situation on the field but the Barbarians didn't give up. The Barbarians fought back scoring a late well set goal in the second half, but time eventually got the better of them. The final score of 3-1 was not being reflective of the effort expended. All in all the Barbs 13s played a great game. This week’s Jack & Co player of the week award went to Jack Patten. Jack played an awesome game covering the field with speed and skill, a real team player.
