Last Saturday Rodney O'Regan VA OAM of Hillville, and Warwick Murray of Oxley Island, attended the annual general meeting and regimental dinner of the Australian Light Horse Association at the Coffs Harbour Ex Services Club.

Delegates travelled from near and far including Western Australia and Tasmania.
Mr O'Regan was re-elected unopposed as vice president of the association.
One noteworth decision coming from the meeting was the dropping of the original age of membership from 16 to 14, thus allowing a smooth transition for many young people from pony club to the light horse.
The dinner commenced with the heralding in of the official party to the sounds of the bugle and the bagpipes followed by the appropriate toasts.
Guest speaker on the occasion was a former warrant officer in the Royal Australian Artillery and current president of the Coffs Harbour Ex-Services Club, Mr David Doyle. OAM; his theme for the evening being, ‘the importance of tradition in our modern society.’
