Club Taree Red Rovers under 15s rugby legue side made the trip to Forster to take on the Hawks at their home ground, which is never easy. From the kick off Rovers were on fire scoring off the first set of six with a well timed pass from Drey Mercy to Jake Saunders, who hit the line with speed and went through untouched. Khan Ridgeway, playing halfback, led the team well picking up two tries. Joey DeStefano, playing his first season at hooker, turned in a busy performance backing up through the middle to score a great try. Forster, coached by Vaughn Doherty, are showing signs of improvement week to week and they showed great pride throughout the game, never giving up and were rewarded with a try off a Rovers’ mistake. Rvers started to take control of the game scoring at will with tries to Casey Morgan, Peter Nicola, Drey Mercy, Charlie Martin, Judd Sharrock, Ethan Collings Jaxon O'Connor and Jake Saunders.
Rovers eventually won 66-6. Coach Wayne Gahan thanked the Forster Hawks players, committee and parents for sticking it out for the past two season in this age group and giving it their all every week.
