This is the second successive year the event has been held in Taree and hosted by the Taree Aquatic Powerboat Club. Entries are on par with the 2016 figure, a club spokesman indicated.
Racing will be in three age divisions – J1 (eights and over), J2 (10s and over) and J3 (12s and over).
The J1 drivers will race for the Phil Burns Memorial Trophy; the J2 will contest the President’s Trophy and the J3s the Secretary’s Trophy.
It is expected up to five drivers from the host club will be involved.
This be the the start of a big weekend of racing on the Manning, with a Taree Aquatic Powerboat Club day to be held on Sunday.
