RED Rovers under 12s travelled to Lake Cathie to play under lights in Group Three Junior Rugby League, where they took on last year’s premiers, Lake Cathie Raiders. Red Rovers won the game 22-12 in what was a very physical encounter with strong defence from both teams.

Connor Latham was Rover’ player of the match with his best game of the season in both attack and defence, proving hard to handle. Jason Donovan scored a hat-trick of tries with Blake Dumas crossing the line as well.
Blair and Will Hamilton were consistent defenders in the middle. Khai Young made some strong runs, getting the boys out of their half while Lucas Lemay and Zac Olive both had their best games of the season.
This weekend the boys travel again for their third straight away game to Wauchope to take on the Blues.
Under 13s
CLUB Taree Red Rovers under 13s played Port Breakers in a very tough game at Taree Recreation Centre. Captain Mhalikai Mercy was outstanding for Rovers and awarded player the match in what was a very physical clash.
Kyle Cochrane, Lockie Drysdale, Jedd Pratt, Levi Cannavo and Lester Andrews were busy all game in the 12-12 draw.
Under nines
CLUB Taree Red Rovers under nines played a really good game against Old Bar. They are really starting to play as a team with tries to Troy Gates, McKye Bron, Tamana Simon-Anderson and Eric Swannack. There was some hard hit ups from Ajay Smith and Blake Crumpton and some good ball movement from McKye Bron and Seth Wrigley. The players have all have improved so much and are playing for each other.
