Forster Police have arrested and charged a 32-year-old Taree man following a police pursuit.

Police will allege that about 1.03am on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 they received a report that a Toyota Landcruiser utility had been stolen from a premises in South Street, Tuncurry.
Shortly after police saw the utility on the Lakes Way, Tuncurry. When police attempted to stop the vehicle the driver refused and a pursuit was initiated.
Police pursued the utility from Tuncurry to Bulahdelah along the Lakes Way, Failford Road and the Pacific Highway. During the pursuit police allege the driver threw a number of objects out of the utility at the pursuing police vehicle with one of the objects striking the windscreen of the police vehicle.
Near the intersection of Recovery Road at Bulahdelah the utility collided with a concrete median strip causing it to overturn and come to rest on the roof.
The driver was uninjured and was removed from the utility and arrested. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
The driver was conveyed to Taree Police Station where he underwent a breath analysis which returned a reading of 0.148. He was charged with seven offences including Police Pursuit – not stop (Skye’s Law), use offensive weapon to avoid arrest and mid range drink-drive.
The man appeared at Forster Local Court on May 10 and has been remanded in custody to appear at Taree Local Court on May 23, 2017.
