The funds were raised through the purchase of $2 donation cards and bakery biscuits as well as donations at the registers.
The Taree store ranked first in the region and tenth in NSW for their contribution to the cause.
Coles Taree’s David Judd said the staff were dedicated to the cause.
“It’s a cause we’re certainly passionate about.
“We got in, had a real hard crack at it and to come tenth in the state and first in our region made me very happy with our efforts,” Mr Judd said.
Mr Judd said the store would continue its community support.
“It’s certainly builds morale and gets us out into the community a bit more.
“We’re planning on getting ourselves further into the community and developing our community link,” Mr Judd said.
The fundraising campaign ran nationally through Coles during April, in a bid to assist current and former members of the Australian Defence Force and their families who suffered hardship as a result of their service.
The store is currently raising funds to assist RedKite.
