The under 11s travelled to Laurieton to take on Camden Haven Bombers. In a competitive match the Mustangs stood up with several younger players making debuting. Jackson Barry returned from an injury riddled 2016 and starred with three goals. There were also stand out performances from Nick Harper and Adam Tull. Final score Mustangs: 3 – 7 – 25 defeated by Camden Haven Bombers: 8 – 11 – 59. The under 13s played their debut game against a skillful and experienced Sawtell Toormina Saints. After a tough first half, the Mustangs switched on and won the third quarter handsomely. Jacobi Shaw stepped up a grade and starred with four goals with the whole team benefitting from the run. Final Score Mustangs: 7 – 4 – 46 defeated by Sawtell Saints: 23 – 17 – 155.
