Westerly winds have continued to blow and this is the wind that usually starts the mullet on their way.
A few mullet have been netted at Crowdy Head and a couple of schools of fish have been seen in the lower parts of the river.
This is the time to get the big gear out and float a slab of fresh mullet near the schooling fish.
Catches of bream are being made in the lower reaches the river and there are plenty of luderick caught at night from the river wall.
Whiting continue to bite well on yabbies from the sand spit. Tailor and bream are being caught with the best fish coming from the northern end of Crowdy beach.
