The Lansdowne Valley Anzac Day Dawn Service was held with 50 community members attending. Lansdowne School students, Upper Lansdowne School students and Manning Valley Anglican College students were among the 112 community members attending the main march and service.

The service was conducted by minister David Freeman. Lansdowne school student Indira Reddie and Upper Lansdowne student Shayne Beaumond both gave a reading.
Lansdowne school, Upper Lansdowne School and Coopernook schools displays of Art Works on the Anzac’s were on show at the auditorium of the Lansdowne Bowling and Recreation Club. All donations from the 2UP will be donated to Soldier On supporting returned soldiers suffering from post traumatic stress disorder.
Community markets
The Lansdowne Community Hall Markets are on tomorrow Saturday morning at the Lansdowne Hall and surrounding grounds.
The markets are open from 8am to noon.
There will be stalls with lots of great bargains from fresh homemade cakes to beautiful handmade craft items to pre-loved items.
The Lansdowne school children will again have a display, this time it will be special works of the people that are special in their lives.
The kitchen will be selling tea, coffee and cakes and Ron’s barbecue will be selling sausage sandwiches and cold drinks. Please phone Rhonda on 0418 920 984 or Val on 6556 7261.
Lansdowne Fishing Club
The Lansdowne Fishing club had two members weigh in at their last weekend outing.
Les Gardner weighed in three flathead with a weight of nine kg and Stephen Henry weighed in two bream with a total weigh of one point one kg.
The next Lansdowne Fishing club weekend outing is May 6 and 7.
Social darts
The Lansdowne social Friday evening social darts results were 1st Nellie Turner and Clint McLaughlin, 2nd were Lizzy Swan and Merve Turner, 3rd were Ruth Adam and Stan Adam. Ladies highest score was won by Nellie Turner on 108 and men’s winner was Danny Dark on 127.
Katey Brooks concert
The Katey Brooks concert will be held at the Upper Lansdowne Hall on Thursday, May 4. The evening commences at 7pm. You can pay at the door but for catering reasons please book your tickets. Tea/coffee and cake will be available at interval. You can bring your own dinner or snacks and drinks. The local support group for the night is Los Dingos.
