It is estimated more than 1000 people attended the dawn service at the memorial clock in Victoria Street at 4.45am.
The main service commences at 10.30am at the clock, preceded by a march down Victoria Street.
The digger statues which were placed on site at Taree’s Memorial Clock in Fotheringham Park earlier this month, were unwrapped on Monday afternoon ahead of Anzac Day.
The statues were created by Toowoomba stonemasons J H Wager and Sons and are the latest in a series of developments at Fotheringham Park. Other projects include the addition of a WWI memorial walkway, a new water bubbler and restoration of the clock tower.
