Bream, luderick and flathead are biting well in the lower parts of the river, reports indicate.
The Manning Point side can be fished as well as Harrington.
Mullet is the best bait for the bream as they are schooling in the lower parts. The sand spit in the lower part of the river is producing good catches of whiting on yabbies.
On the beaches tailor are plentiful with most catches made from the southern part of Crowdy beach being just over sized – up to 40cm. Fish from the northern end are much larger and are over a kilo in weight.
